PCF Announces $70,000 Donation with Miles of Change Foundation for New Outdoor #ConnaughtonCourt at Arlington Boys & Girls Club

Arlington, MA – The Pat Connaughton Foundation (PCF), in partnership with the Miles of Change Foundation, is proud to announce a combined $70,000 donation to support the renovation of an outdoor basketball court at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. This newly refurbished #ConnaughtonCourt will provide a revitalized space for basketball, futsal, and recreation for the more than 3,500 youth served annually by the Club and surrounding community.

Officially dating back to 1937, with its earliest organizing efforts beginning in the early 1930s, the Arlington Boys & Girls Club has long served as a cornerstone for youth development in the area. Through a wide range of programming that includes licensed preschool, licensed after-school care, swim classes, sports and fitness opportunities, enrichment classes, and more, the Club continues to provide a safe, active, and supportive environment for local families.

This court renovation marks a major investment in that mission. The outdoor space had not been updated since the 1980s, and this project will now give the community a newly renovated court designed for both basketball and futsal, a smaller, fast-paced version of soccer. The court will officially open to the public on May 17.

“We are deeply grateful to the Pat Connaughton Foundation for their leadership and support in the renovation of our outdoor court here at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club,” said Kevin Flood, Assistant Director of the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. “Pat Connaughton’s ongoing commitment to giving back continues to create meaningful opportunities for youth, and we sincerely appreciate this investment in our Club and community.

We are equally appreciative of the support from Miles Robinson and the Miles of Change Foundation, whose partnership helped make this project possible. Together, these contributions from Pat and Miles, two Arlington legends (and Club members when they themselves were kids), will create a space that brings fun, excitement, and a lasting positive impact for the kids we serve every day!”

“This project means a lot because it’s about giving kids in Arlington a place to play, grow, and make memories for years to come,” said Joe Stanton, Development Manager at the Pat Connaughton Foundation. “To partner on this with the Miles of Change Foundation and help bring new life to a court that had not been updated in decades is incredibly special. We’re proud to support a space that will serve so many young people through sport, connection, and community.”

The new court reflects the shared commitment of both foundations to expanding access to athletics and creating spaces where young people can build confidence, stay active, and develop life skills through play. It also adds to the continued momentum of the #ConnaughtonCourts initiative, which is focused on creating long-term impact in communities through high-quality athletic spaces.
