PCF Announces $133,000 Donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee for New #ConnaughtonCourt at Davis Club
Milwaukee, WI – The Pat Connaughton Foundation (PCF) is proud to announce a $133,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM) to support the restoration of the indoor basketball court at the Don & Sallie Davis Club, one of the organization’s most active and impactful locations. This newly refurbished #ConnaughtonCourt will serve as a vital resource for more than 1,500 youth annually.
Founded in 1887, BGCGM has a long-standing legacy of empowering youth across the city. The Davis Club, originally opened in 1963 and renamed in 2006, is a critical hub for youth engagement, providing athletic, academic, and development experiences. The facility currently supports 1,480 registered members and reaches more than 3,000 youth annually through both on-site programs and community partnerships.
“When the floor of a basketball court at our most bustling Boys & Girls Club in the city is suddenly unavailable to the hundreds of members who come to us daily for a safe and fun experience, that’s a crisis,” said Jeff Snell, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. “Thankfully, through the responsiveness and expertise at the Pat Connaughton Foundation, we were able to immediately begin repairs so we don’t lose kids to the street. On behalf of the hundreds of kids and their families who benefit from such impactful work, thank you!”
The Davis Club gym is a cornerstone of daily activity, used by more than 200 children each day. It hosts youth ages 5–18 for basketball, soccer, volleyball, and football leagues, as well as athletic clinics in partnership with groups like Marquette University’s soccer team. The gym also doubles as a safe space for recreation, development, and mentorship.
“The moment we heard about the floor needing repairs, we knew we had to help,” said Joe Stanton, Development Manager at the Pat Connaughton Foundation. “This gym isn’t just a basketball court, it’s a lifeline. It’s a space where young people grow, build confidence, and stay safe. We’re honored to partner with and support BGCGM and their incredible impact on Milwaukee’s next generations.”
The $133,000 donation will cover the full cost of repairs, ensuring that Davis Club members—and youth from neighboring schools and sites—can continue to benefit from a high-quality indoor court experience. This marks the latest addition to the #ConnaughtonCourts initiative, focused on creating long-lasting, positive impact through athletics in underserved communities.
